The theme ʻExplore, Experience and Serveʼ represents not only the promotion of a global view to our community, but also an educational renaissance in our approach different subject matters and the connections between them.
ʻExploreʼ is analogous to ʻbreadth.ʼ Education comprises many subject matters, so there is a new found perspective on a wide variety of perspectives, options, and cultures.
ʻExperienceʼ represents ʻdepth.ʼ At an intermediate level to a subject matter and beyond, students gain deeper knowledge of the subject, and hopefully begin to define their own preferences and strengths.
ʻServeʼ signifies ʻpurpose.ʼ We want our students to understand how they can use the strengths and interests they have explored to contribute to our world, in a spirit of service.
With an interdisciplinary approach, we hope to ʻexploreʼ variety and connections among our subjects. By pursuing a topic about which we are intellectually curious, and sharing discussions and process, we will gain a deeper ʻexperienceʼ in areas of interest. Finally, through guided investigations into real-world service outcomes related to this topic, we will share our strengths in a meaningful way.
